Furthermore, the business will engage in buying and trading whisky casks to reduce overhead costs and enhance profitability. Overall, Lolaire is poised to revolutionize the luxury whisky market by offering a sophisticated and personalized whisky blending experience, backed by industry expertise and a keen understanding of market trends.
Overall Strategy / Objectives Lolaire will optimise its marketing strategy to meet the modern-day sophisticated mix of product design and placement, social media, various beverage trade platforms & sponsored articles with large industry readership such as The Drinks Business & Whisky Magazine. We will look to get maximum exposure by entering our brand, packaging and design into the relative packaging & design awards, as well as annual independant bottlers award whisky ceremonies. We have considered the idea of getting an A-lister to endorse our brand, but this is not high on the list, and we’d rather put those funds to better use. We’re not ruling it out - but it’s not part of our starting strategy. Our core team, and trade connections means that right from the start, we’re already positioned and can be placed in promiment boutique whisky stores around the UK, and traded abroad. USP (unique selling point) Crafting custom single malt Scotch whisky blends customized to individual preferences for exclusive clients and enthusiasts at Lolaire, a luxury whisky establishment, and showcased in exquisite packaging. Celebrating influential women in the industry. Within the whisky and beverage sector, there exist distinguished female authorities. The Founder and Master Blender are esteemed for their expertise in the beverage realm. We aim to connect with other impactful women in business to pave the way in an industry traditionally dominated by men.
Business Location Parent Company: Our Sommelier Limited is the parent company of Lolaire Limited, and both are registered at 44-50 Royal Parade Mews, Blackheath, London, SE3 0TN Where are our whisky casks stored and bottled? At the moment, Lolaire Limited does not own any casks, nor have we registered an account at a regulated HMRC bonded warehouse, however Our Sommelier is fully accredited, and can sell us some aged casks to get us started while we apply for the neccesary licenses. These are the first steps on our roadmap. Our Sommelier’s casks are stored at The Whisky Broker (name for the warehouse), and they have the facility to bottle on-site. Should Lolaire wish to store casks at a different location in Scotand, we would have to apply for an additional WOWGR license from HMRC. Each warehouse requires a new application. What regulations and organisations are in place to monitor our industry? HMRC is the main regulatory body that monitors all activity within network of bonded warehouses. Quality-Control Depending on the age of the cask, we might request the warehouse to send 10-20 ml samples every year, as well as advise us of the alcohol strength and remaining literage. With an older casks, this might be done twice a year as we can’t allow the ABV strength to drop below 40.0% ABV. It can’t be classified as Whisky if it does or fetch it’s market price.
What will be the process for collecting monies owed? We will first be using a financial software called Xero, which will be synced to our Accountant for book keeping and submitting accounts. We will either collect funds from customers by either bank transfer or credit card, either in person, over the phone, or online via our website. Our Booking/Accountant is ABR Chartered Accountants. 2-4 Eastern Road, St Georges House, Romford, RM1 3PJ. http://www.abr-accountants.com Bank We intend to open a bank account with Barclays Bank Plc. PAYE / Payroll We foresee 1-2 core staff to be paid via PAYE payroll, and other consultants to be hired on self-employed terms.
